Crime Safety Program in Louisville Will Hopefully Tackle Meth Problem

crime safetyLocal police in the Louisville area are now joining forces with managers of apartment complexes in order to stop the production and sale of methamphetamine. Currently, illegal meth sales are increasing and it is starting to become a major issue in many different communities.

This new plan, which has been named "Apartment Watch", intends to educate property managers about the abundance and dangers of meth production. Hopefully, it will raise awareness throughout various communities so that residents will be able to identify these labs when they are nearby.

According to the LMPD, sixty-eight methamphetamine labs were discovered last year in the Louisville area. It is also common to find these labs in both regular homes as well as apartment rentals. Major Ozzy Gibson of the Louisville Municipal Police Department mentioned that, "One of the things we are looking at is ... let's face it. With the housing market the way it is, people losing their homes. Those families are going to go somewhere and have to live and we are gonna have other issues to face in apartment complexes."

In addition to Louisville, KY, meth labs are starting to become abundant in many other parts of the U.S. If your community has a crime safety program similar to this one then do not hesitate to learn more about it. This is a very dangerous drug and we should all make an effort to stop its production.
